WHAT IS DETOXIFICATION?

Detoxification is the physiological or medicinal removal of toxic substances found in the human body. It is a constant bodily process that is very important to our overall health. You don’t need pills or a prescription to detoxify because the human body can naturally detox with the right foods. When we ingest foods that are “Natural Detoxifiers” we get the opportunity to cleanse and detoxify our bodies naturally, which promotes our long-term health. Some examples of foods that are natural detoxifiers are fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts, legumes, and protein.

WHY DETOXIFY?

We need to detoxify to reduce the long-term negative effects that toxins have on our health. Think about it, between eating fast food, snacking all day, drinking sugary drinks, coffee, and soda… we deal with a slew of environmental hazards, from pollution to our everyday cleaning products… lets not forget consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, and pharmaceutical drugs, whether prescribed or OTC.

As you can see, toxins are all around us – no wonder, after a while, it takes a toll on our body and hits us with symptom after symptom. This is the time when a good detox may just be the answer.

BENEFITS OF DETOXIFICATION

Periodically cleansing and detoxifying your body can provide you with so many benefits. Detoxifying your body naturally can boost and strengthen your mental clarity and functions, strengthen your immune system, and help keep your nervous system healthy. You will reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer, regulate blood sugar, and lower cholesterol. Detoxing helps to strengthen your bones, which helps reduce the risk of osteoporosis. And, it will also help you regulate your weight and obtain healthy beautiful skin and hair.

Many people think that detoxifying is an expensive and daunting task but it’s not. Fruits, vegetable, and beans can be found at your local supermarket and is cost-effective. So, before you head to the nearest pharmacy to reach for any pills that promote detoxification – head to the grocery store, grab a cart, and get your detox on the natural way.
