Life Skills Education is a form of education that focuses on cultivating personal life skills such as self-reflection, critical thinking, goal-setting, problem solving, decision-making, effective communication, stress management, empathy, and interpersonal skills. It aims to help children reach their full personal potentials and to prepare them for the challenges of everyday life.
Home Economics Education focuses on the wellbeing of students within the context of their personal, family, and community roles. Home economics education is about becoming independent, connecting with others, and taking action towards choices that support individual and family wellbeing. Through home economics education, students become empowered, active and informed members of society. Home economics education plays a major role in supporting students to participate effectively in changing social, cultural and economic times.
LifeCipher 360 Enrichment Program understands that a staggering amount of homes are now either single-parent homes or if a child is fortunate enough to have both parents, more often than not, both parents have to work. This leaves a void, a gap that needs to be filled. It is very difficult for parents these days to focus on things such as health and hygiene when they are worried about the electric bill or rent. These children are headed down a negative path that will almost be impossible to reverse if intervention does not take place. As the family dynamic continues to shift and parents have to work more and spend less time with their children, there has been an increase in the amount of children that are lacking basic life skills.
It is of utter importance that these children understand that they are the future and it is vital that they understand the basics in life so that they may become productive adults with common sense in areas of life that are rarely being taught.
LifeCipher 360 Enrichment Program will implement discussions and workshops that create a comfortable and caring environment for the children. Children will participate in interactive activities, role-playing, and visual media. In the event a child requires a little extra attention, an individualized plan will be created with a focus on social skills and development.
